Clients have varying expectations for interactivity based on their audience. I think it's an interesting perspective to both design and code my own templates and elements. This is reflected early on in the design process when careful consideration is given to the effect that the design will have on the code implementation. While some applications may permit fly-out menus, flash galleries, and lots of JavaScript, others require that the broadest possible audience be reached.
I wanted to present my portfolio in the most complementary way to be sure, but extra special care was given to making this site viewable in a variety of browsers. In fact, everything should still make sense and no navigation elements should be broken if CSS and JavaScript are disabled completely. This design philosophy also provides the best possible mobile, screen reader, and search engine accessibility.
